Building Stronger Communities

At Unity in the Community Nonprofit, we believe true change starts with empowered people. This month, we’re shifting the spotlight from bricks and mortar to the individuals and organizations shaping the heart of our neighborhoods.

30 Days to Nonprofit-Ready Bootcamp

Earlier this year, we launched a special leadership cohort:
30 Days to Nonprofit-Ready – a crash course designed to help aspiring leaders establish their own nonprofit organizations.

From filing for 501(c)(3) status to mission mapping and board development, we’re guiding local visionaries through the essential steps of launching impactful, community-rooted NGOs.

CEO CORNER

June has been a month of education and awareness as we continued engaging our community around the critical need for veteran support. In the DMV region, care for veterans remains limited. While we are grateful for some changes being made, the weight of serving veterans is not shared as broadly or as deeply as it should be. The funding, focus, and prioritization of veteran services still fall short.

This reality does not deter us at Unity in the Community. It also does not stop the committed organizations we are honored to work alongside. We press forward with the same perseverance and resilience that our veterans have demonstrated through their service.

By supporting our events and other veteran-focused efforts across the region, you help increase the visibility, urgency, and resources dedicated to this important mission.

We remain committed to enlightening our community on why this work matters. After serving our country, our veterans deserve to be served with dignity, care, and honor.
